Meet Inge

I was born in Framingham, MA and grew up in Connecticut, Germany and in Ohio.

My undergraduate education was at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. From college, I joined the Peace Corps, Nepal,  where I worked in fisheries.

Returning from Nepal, I entered medical school at UCONN and got a combined Md/PhD in medicine and medical anthropology. My residency was in family practice at Swedish Hospital in Seattle. Washington.

Because of a lifelong interest in serving people, I joined the Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center, a migrant health center outside of Portland, OR. I worked there for 25 years and retired from being a primary care provider in December of 2022.

My work included attending births for the first ten years of my time, doing obstetric care, pediatric care, well child checks, adolescent care, adult medicine and geriatrics. I additionally trained in functional medicine  (and hold a certificate from the American Board of Holistic and Integrative Medicine), started programs in nutrition, and planted herbal gardens.

Eventually, I came to study fascial counterstrain and found it compelling enough to start a new chapter of care!

My coursework in fascial counterstrain includes : arterial dysfunctions, venous and lymphatic dysfunction, myochains and ligamentous dysfunction, periosteal dysfunctions and endplates, cartilage, nervous systems 1 and 2, the viscera, and central sensitization systems 1 and 2. I am also a student in the counterstrain academy and have taken 3 courses through the academy.

I love languages and speak English, Spanish, German and Nepali fluently. I have also studied Chinese and French.

When not engaged in my work, I love to hike, garden, cook, work with animals, write, and dance.
